Learning Outcome - The learner will:Assessment Criterion - The learner can:

Demonstrate stagecraft skills in the role of a lead performer in a specific musical performance and evaluate their own suitability to the role.

1.1

Analyse personal aims in their role as a lead performer in relation to a specific musical performance lasting fifteen minutes, to include:

a. own image portrayal;

b. wardrobe;

c. performance persona;

d. movement;

e. verbal and non-verbal communication with their audience.

1.2

Prepare effectively for the role of lead performer in the performance identified in 1.1, assessing the implications on the performance of the following:

a. nature of the performance environment;

b. own ability to perform a lead role in the performance environment;

c. personal equipment needs;

d. vommunication with technical staff and other musicians, where appropriate;

e. Health & Safety implications.

1.3

Undertake the role of lead performer in the fifteen minute music performance identified in 1.2, relevant to the personal aims identified in 1.1.

1.4

Draw conclusions relating to the success of the performance by analysing tutor comments made in relation to the performance in the lead role, distinguishing between strengths and areas requiring further development in relation to developing strategies for effective live performance in a lead role in the future.
