Apply musicianship skills to interpret musical information provided by another musician (tutor or peer):
a. transcribe a given 8 bar melodic line and reproduce vocally or on a melody instrument. The melodic line will:
i. have a regular, underlying pulse of between 100 and 120 bpm;
ii. containing non-diatonic intervals;
iii. contain rhythmic interest;
iv. contains articulation and dynamics;
b. transcribe and reproduce a given 8 bar, harmonic progression (played to a pulse as in 1.1) as a chord chart, appropriate to the melodic line in 1.1 a. The progression will include:
i. extended chords (maj/min9th – 13ths);
ii. one altered chord (containing non-diatonic intervals);
c. analyse the chord/scale relationship in 1.1 b and improvise over the progression
