Be able to demonstrate the skills to plan a recording session.

1.1

Produce a basic recording plan indicating:

a. repertoire to be recorded with instrumentation and personnel;

b. accommodation & resources;

c. timescale.

2

Be able to use an audio recorder to record a piece of music.

2.1

Create a two-track (stereo) live recording of an ensemble which meets the following requirements:

a. use of input gain/trim to set level;

b. effective use of the recorder so as to minimise time wastage;

c. copy the recording to appropriate media (e.g. CD/MP3).

2.2

Check their recording in relation to the criteria in 2.1 and identify strengths and areas for development.
