Learning Outcome - The learner will:		Assessment Criterion - The learner can:
1	Understand the meaning of the terms social diversity and social inclusion and that social disadvantage may affect the organisation’s service users and/or volunteers	1.1	Give definitions of the terms ‘social diversity’, ‘social inclusion’, and ‘social disadvantage’
		1.2	Describe the effects of social disadvantage on different groups
		1.3	Describe how social disadvantage may affect volunteers and the work they do
2	Understand the impact of stereotyping and discrimination	2.1	Give examples of stereotyped attitudes some people may have about different groups of service users or volunteers
		2.2	Explain how stereotyped attitudes may impact on their work as a volunteer
		2.3	Describe examples of discriminatory behaviour or practices and how they may deter some people from taking part in the organisation or project
3	Recognise how to promote participation from diverse groups of people	3.1	Describe ways that their organisation or project can make diverse members of the community feel welcome
		3.2	Identify organisational barriers that may prevent people from engaging with the organisation
		3.3	Suggest changes the organisation could make to overcome these barriers
