Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria

Learning Outcome - The learner will:		Assessment Criterion - The learner can:
1	Know how to cash up in a retail store	1.1	show that they know company routines and procedures for cashing up
		1.2	show that they know how to check for any overages and shortages
		1.3	show that they know the reasons why overages and shortages occur
		1.4	show that they know the level of their authority to deal with overages and shortages
		1.5	show that they know who to contact regarding those discrepancies they cannot deal with themselves
		1.6	show that they know company procedures for keeping cash, cash equivalents and themselves secure throughout the cashing up process
		1.7	show that they know what equipment to use for cashing up and how to use it safely, effectively and efficiently
2	Cash up in a retail store	2.1	cash up in line with company routines and procedures
		2.2	identify till overages and shortages and deal with these in line with company procedures and within the limits of the learner’s authority
		2.3	where they are not authorised to resolve problems with overages and shortages themselves, report these promptly to the right person
