As far as possible this unit should be assessed in a work related environment.

Materials should include:

• fresh materials

• dried/preserved and/or manufactured materials

• accessories

Wedding designs should include the following:

A. Wired wedding designs:

• wired buttonhole

• wired boutonniere

• wired corsage

• wired circlet headdress (simple)

• wired headdress (corsage style)

• wired bridesmaid contemporary novelty (non traditional/ non corsage style)

• wired accessory

• wired wristlet

B. Glued wedding designs:

• glued corsage (non-traditional)

• glued Alice band

• wired & glued accessory

C. Foam based wedding designs:

• bridesmaid basket for a child

• bridesmaid posy for a child

D. Tied wedding designs:

• Natural tied posy for a child bridesmaid

• Compact tied posy for an adult bridesmaid

In completing this unit the learner must cover the following current legislation: HASAW, Sale of Goods Act and COSHH

Assessment methods should be appropriate to reflect the level of the unit and should assess both the candidate’s understanding and ability to demonstrate skills.

Select the appropriate materials, sundries, and/or mediums, and tools for the specified design
