This unit will be internally assessed, internally and externally moderated via a learner’s portfolio and other related evidence, against the unit outcomes and assessment criteria.
Assessment must be in the workplace.
Be able to set up and plan machine configurations
Set up machinery to meet production requirements in accordance with approved procedures
Assess downtime and set-up time accurately so that it fits into the production schedule
Obtain all relevant data and resources to prove machinery
Clean and maintain plant during set up
Ensure that the initial machine settings conform to the production specification
Carry out checks to ensure the machine configuration is safe
Be able to prepare machinery for production
Conduct trial runs of machinery to check that the settings achieve the required production rate
Check processed product against specification to ensure conformity
Make adjustments to machine settings to meet quality requirements as necessary
Under normal production conditions, check that the machinery is running tomeet specification requirements and ensure conformity by taking samples and inspecting them against specification
Obtain authority to proceed with productionin accordance with organisational procedures
Log and store all relevant finalised information following approved organisational procedures
Provide relevant information and instructions to appropriate people to permit production to beginin accordance with organisational procedures
