Learning Outcome - The learner will:		Assessment Criterion - The learner can:
1	Understand of health and welfare reuirements of animals	1.1	Give examples of the signs of a healthy animal
		1.2	Give examples of the signs of an unhealthy animal
		1.3	State how to make adjustments to the environment to maintain the animal's health
		1.4	State why it is important for animals to been given the opportunity to exercise
		1.5	Define why it is important to report an animal health emergency
		1.6	Know how to provide food and water according to instruction
		1.7	State why it is important to work in a way that maintains your own health and safety and the health and welfare of the animal
		1.8	Define the term zoonosis
2	Understand how to safely handle animals	2.1	State the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE)
		2.2	State any problems with handling animals
		2.3	Give examples of how to approach an animal in a way that takes into account its tempreament and behaviour
		2.4	Indicate how to monitor the animal's behaviour in response to being handled
