This unit should be assessed in a work environment and is subject to the requirements set out in the Assessment Strategy for the sector in which it is being assessed.

The assumed pre-requisite is that the learner undertaking this unit will be an experienced operator in a laundry or dry cleaning environment.

This unit should not be taken prior to taking ‘How to select items and assemble orders for delivery to individual customers as part of the laundry or dry cleaning service.’

Be able to identify and remove from storage items that meet the requirements of the orders

Identify stock items that meet the requirements of the orders

Remove items from stock and prepare them for dispatch within required time limit

Pick stock at a rate that balances the requirements for accuracy and speed

Be able to update stock control information

Update stock control information to record progress of orders and stock levels

Provide accurate information when specified items are not in stock, including the time it will take to obtain them
