Learning Outcome - The learner will:		Assessment Criterion - The learner can:
1	Be able to maintain social contact by speaking Japanese	1.1	Use appropriate conventions: a. greeting b. introductions c. thanking d. apologising e. leave taking
		1.2	Use strategies to maintain converstaion a. say whether he/she has understood or not b. ask for repetition
		1.3	Use key spoken and non verbal polite conventions
2	Be able to communicate basic messages in Japanese in familiar work situations	2.1	Express: a. basic factual statements b. basic wishes c. basic likes/preferences and dislikes d. basic questions
		2.2	Speak accurately enough to be understood
		2.3	Pronounce the language clearly enough to be understood
