Explain why it is important to control entry to and egress from premises

Explain the limits of personal authority when controlling entry and egress

Identify the types of identity and other authority documents in use

Describe how to recognise invalid or false entry documents

Describe the actions to take for lost or stolen identification, or other documents authorising access

Confirm that persons wishing to enter premises have the required authority to do so

Admit authorised persons in accordance with organisation’s policies and procedures

Take appropriate action when anyone attempts to gain entry without acceptable identification when this is required

Demonstrate how to maintain goodwill and remain professional when dealing with incidents

Greet visitors promptly and courteously

Confirm the identity of visitors, the purpose of their visit and whether they have authority to enter the premises

State where to find a record of internal phone number

Promptly notify the appropriate person to whom visitors should be directed or escorted

Describe the layout and geography of the premises where they provide a security service

Escort or direct visitors to the appropriate location in line with organisation’s policies and procedures

Demonstrate how to deal with incidents involving visitors professionally and courteously

Complete the required visitor’s documentation, including:

• visitor pass

• visitor register
