Learning Outcome - The learner will:Assessment Criterion - The learner can:

Demonstrate choreographic skills in relation to dance in popular music.

1.1

Create a small-group dance routine for three performers, of two and a half to three minutes duration to a chosen piece of popular music, which meets the following requirements:

a. each performer is given distinct dance parts;

b. use of at least four choreographic devices (the same devices may be used in each part).

Demonstrate ability to direct a choreographed dance piece and recognise own potential to create choreography.

2.1

Direct dancers in rehearsal and final performance of the choreography created in 2.1, ensuring, meeting the following requirements:

a. clear direction to dancers;

b. basic problem solving;

c. use of effective communication to ensure the performers are clearly aware of the relationship of the routine to the music.

2.2

Describe the success of the choreography and the rehearsal/performance process, highlighting strengths and areas for development.
