Interpret design briefs for retail displays

3.1

identify the purpose, content and style of the display

3.2

identify the equipment, materials, merchandise and props needed to create and install the display and the dates for completing it

3.3

evaluate whether the place they plan to put the display is likely to fulfil the design brief

3.4

create new and effective ways of improving the visual effect of displays, within the limits of the design brief, the company’s visual design policies and the authority the learner has

Get hold of merchandise and props to be featured in retail displays

4.1

confirm that the features of merchandise and props shown in the design brief are those most likely to attract customers’ attention

4.2

identify other merchandise and props when those originally specified are not available or not suitable, and agree alternative selections with the right person

4.3

agree arrangements for delivery of merchandise and props with the right people, allowing enough time for deliveries to arrive before the display must be installed

4.4

check the progress of deliveries and take suitable action if delays seem likely

4.5

update stock records to account for merchandise on display
