Carry out covert security observations in line with:
• organisation’s policies and procedures
• relevant legal requirements
• codes of practice
Act in a way that maintains the covert security role
Describe how to dress, behave and communicate with others to preserve the covert role
Dress appropriately for the retail environments in which the covert security is being provided
Communicate with colleagues and the relevant authorities in ways that maintains the covert security role
Explain why it is important to record and maintain all observations and reports
Record activities as potential evidence in line with:
• the organisation’s policies and procedures
Be able to respond to security alarms
Identify the type and locations of security alarm systems to which a response is required
Respond appropriately to security alarms that does not compromise the covert security role, in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures
Report defective or ineffective security alarm systems to the appropriate person
